My family and I are loving our new home! Our experience throughout the entire process was made enjoyable by the experience, professionalism, and commitment we were shown by our loan officer, Chris Shoemaker. Chris was fast, thorough, understanding, and patient when it came to understanding our needs and answering our questions. He worked with us and around our schedules allowing us to get into our home fast and easily! Very pleasant experience going with this company! They are highly recommended! My real estate agent event commented that this was one of the smoothest and best company she's dealt with!
Max and his team were absolutely wonderful!
Rayan Ashburn was good at the start then was drooping the ball had a April 1 closeting date which we had a rental so we where forced to rent weekly.(cost us more money. Ryan making excuses think we had 4 different closing dates. Insurance for the property
he offered three different insurance i told him we will take your recommended.(bad mistake)then on are real closing day before said i needed to bring a check for 8400.00
which we did but in shock was had to come up. After the closing date he said he would help find a lower insurance at this point i don't trust him as he should have done this when insurance was brought up the first times (you have access to emails you can judge for your self.
On a good note Carly Kanoa was awesome to deal with....
Response from Veterans United
Hi Leslie,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad to hear Carly made a positive impact, but I’m really sorry for the frustration you went through with the rest of the process.
Having your closing date change multiple times, especially when it led to extra rental costs, is incredibly stressful. I also understand how concerning it must have been to be asked to bring a significantly higher amount to closing on short notice. That kind of information should be clear and communicated well in advance so you have time to prepare.
I hear your concerns about the insurance as well. You should feel confident in the guidance you’re given, and I’m sorry that trust wasn’t there by the end of your experience.
I’d really like the chance to take a closer look at what happened and review your file in more detail. If you’re open to it, please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
We’re available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday, and we’ll follow up the next business day if you contact us after hours.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
It was one of the smoothest Loan process we have had. Glad we were finally able to get a good home using my VA Benefits.
I was pretty much set up by the time I talk to Veterans United.
The process in the beginning was smooth and streamlined. Everyone was helpful and easy to talk to. The closing process, however, had some issues. I had to reach out multiple times with the same questions and double check the answers I was given. My closing numbers were wrong after having said multiple times that I wanted to put money down up front. This caused frustration on both the buyer and selling side. Everyone worked hard to correct the issues but it was not ideal and now requires more paperwork on the backside. Somehow communication broke down on multiple sides at multiple points in the closing portion.
My team at Veterans United was a blessing. Their unsurpassed customer service helped my family tremendously. From start to finish they answered every question, explained everything and ensured we understood the process. Their patience, respect, and care will always be appreciated. The whole home buying experience surprisingly simple! I will sing their praises for years to come! Thank you all for being the best in the business. I feel like you all are a part of my family. I'll definitely send more veterans your way!
Andy was excellent, he answered my questions promptly and guided me through the entire loan process.

I worked with Veterans United on getting my first home loan and refinancing it. I couldn't be more impressed with the service I received. From my initial inquiry to the final approval, the staff went above and beyond to ensure the process was smooth and stress-free. Shout to Torie, Ashley R, Gloria, and James for providing exceptional service from start to finish. Trust and believe i will be working with them again.
We recently closed on a house in Riverview, Florida. I worked with Jon Abernathy's team and the main person I had contact with was Ashton. Whether it was her or anyone else on Jon's team, they were always willing to help me and get whatever needed to be done completed. We had some complications along the way but she was able to get the info ready quickly and efficiently to help meet our closing date. Thank you, Veterans United and especially Ashton for all the help along the way.
Overall the experience with Veterans United was very helpful. We really appreciate Emmett Rogers, our Loan Officer, for answering all of our questions and helping in any way he could and deserves a 10 by himself. Our Loan Coordinator, Landon Franklin, wasn’t the best at communicating and made us feel rushed to do things that ultimately could have ended up losing us money. There was a lot of miscommunication on his part and didn’t know if he had called us or not after we missed a call. We didn’t enjoy working with Landon due to that and also the fact that it seemed like he wasn’t sure of what he was doing, individually we would rate him a 2.
