It was really great.Second, the process was seamless and integrated amazingly well with all of the DoW (DOD) systems I needed to log into to secure the loan and pre-approval. I believe the best thing was the lack of feeling stressed. Veterans United and especially the great people working on my loan made every aspect easy and always came off very friendly and approachable. These guys are the very best I've ever worked with! I will do ALL my future business with VU and recommend to everyone I know to call them FIRST if you need a mortgage! Mike is dedicated, fast, efficient, and will give you an honest, no-BS answer. He will go above and beyond to make sure things go right. He was still sending me documents at 11pm on a Friday night trying to help me out of an emergency situation, whereas my previous lender took 7 days vacation and came back a week before closing to tell me he couldn't do what Team Mange knocked out in record time!
The experience was 10/10 until we reached the closing date. Clint was incredible to work with and helped me out every step of the way. There was a miscommunication so my spouse on the mortgage despite her not being present at signing. We were supposed to close on a Friday afternoon and it took until the following Wednesday to resolve all of the paperwork. I couldn’t reach anyone on the team that Friday evening and when one of the team members responded to my realtor I was not included in the response or contacted by veterans united. It felt like the team didn’t know what options I wanted to go ahead with.
The closer insisted on my spouse waiving her homestead rights if she wasn’t on the title, but didn’t explain why it was necessary. The title attorney and her team were also confused because it was an unusual request.
I had an excellent experience working with my loan specialist by the name of Kelly Tolster; the whole team at Veterans United was great. They were patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to explain every step clearly. I never felt rushed or confused, and they made the entire process smooth and stress‑free. Their professionalism and kindness truly stood out. I’m very grateful for their help and would highly recommend them to anyone going through the VA loan process.
