Andrew Beckett and Andrew Garton was nice but i did not like Max Carratura's attitude many times. There were two major incidents that happened that were horrible. One was i called in months earlier to tell them where we were buying a home the area of the woodlands, in Houston, Texas. They continuously thought i was buying a house in Georgia and every time i called i had to tell them that i was buying a house in texas. i needed to look at homes to buy in my price range so Max told me what my price range was based on the property tax rate in the area i told him we were buying in. We spent months looking at homes..MONTHS.....that way when we flew 1000 miles from Augusta, GA to Texas then we would have the best houses to look at in the 2 days we had to look at homes. He had no idea what the property tax rate was and we didn't know to tell him how to do his job so luckily our real estate agent caught on one day before we left on our flight and told us that it was wrong. we called back and he didn't even apologize and acted like it wasn't his fault so we had to pick out 30 cheaper houses in our new price range on the flight down there. it was a disaster. Next we come to the purchase process. I gave the team everything that they asked for and in the end they stalled for 2 weeks before we were going to move 1000 miles to Texas. We didn't even have a home to go to! I have a 6 month old baby and it was absolutely the most stressful thing in my entire life. They asked for 7 different letters from my employer verifying my employment and that we were opening a new office in TX. they wouldn't even accept the lease to our office. They continuously told me that they had to verify the business by Google Search. That doesn't even make any sense. They wouldn't even take our website with the new address on it. finally i had to send off for the business license and they accepted that after i don't know how long. I have never seen anything like this in my whole life but a lot of people were made angry, worried, stressed, depressed, filled with anxiety and confused. No one is happy when they hear the word Veterans United. I think Andrew beckett and garton are nice guys but the team as a whole it seemed like didn't have any communication with the underwriters. everytime they asked for something, we provided it and then they said it wasn't good enough. We had so much time to get all of these ridiculous questions answered.
Excellent service with this staff. VU pushes your potential as well as there's to strive for the new home buying experience. If I had to do this all over again I would. I feel proud to serve this country, as I would do it again all over in a heartbeat
It was an intimidating experience buying my first home but the experience of my loan officer and real estate agent helped ease my nerves. They were also available at all times to answer questions. The dedication and tenacity of my loan officer helped secure our home in a multiple offer situation.
Veterans United was a breath of fresh air. This being only our second mortgage we were expecting one similar to our first with a large national bank. Our first mortgage was a migraine while the one with Veterans United was like a vacation. Veterans United guided us through every step along the way. We were even available to close a few weeks earlier than planned. To top it off they even sent over a gift for our 6 month old son. We would definitely recommend them to all of our friends looking for a mortgage.
Neal, and staff were great to work with once again. Smooth process.
Look forward to continued business.

We worked with Aaron Boner as well and he was great! Between him and Jeff, our experience was amazing! Also we used the lighthouse program to help get us qualified and it got us way past where we needed to be! Highly recommend Veterans United!

Joe FERLING and his team with Veterans United made our home buying experience go very smoothly. They very prompt answering questions. I was especially impressed how easy it was to contact them during the process. When we called they usually answered the phone personally. If we did have to leave a voice mail we were called promptly.
Veterans United made our dream of buying a home come true.
The staff at Veteran United managed my case in a professional way, prompt and friendly. I whiched the process of the loan or their Several steps where explained or at least list the steps to follow to avoid delays. Also, to name ahead or list possible documents, letters I statements need in the process and or the process about the closing. All this was informed through the process but I believe it may be less stressful if the customer know ahead of time what need to gather or happens during the process.
My experience with Veterans United was one of the most amazing, professional, and smooth processes I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I would recommend Veterans United to anyone who will listen. Thank you Veterans United for being that guiding light at the end of the tunnel for me and my family. Thanks again for making our first home buying experience a pleasant one.
I first heard of Veterans United by searching the internet. I decided to short sale my previous house after my divorce and then found out that most lenders treat this like a foreclosure and make you wait 2 years after a short sale to get approved. Being just over a year, Coldwell, Wells Fargo and many others wouldn’t approve my mortgage. After researching online I found this is not from VA regulation, but from the lender, I also found Veterans United which stated it did not impose this waiting period.
Since working on computers is what I do for a living, I am always leery of what I find online. I proceeded to research VU since no one I know has ever heard of them. After 2 days of reading reviews and finding company info I decided to call. Like everything on the internet there is good and bad. I have learned to take both with a grain of salt and you have to read between the lines. Some people don't have good experiences and it is their own fault. This is why I decided to write this review, because Kevin's Team deserves it.
From the first call with David, everything was great service. Even a few weeks into the process I was still leery as this is my nature, but I never had any issues at all with them. Kevin McMillen's entire team was outstanding! Jacklyn was my Transaction Coordinator and she is fantastic to work with. They always answered my questions and worked hard to get things done! Kevin and Jackie and David either answered my call or returned it within 30 minutes every time. I called or emailed regularly just to make sure everything was processing and to see if they needed anything from me. I am an old hard headed Marine that is impatient, wants to know what, why and how of every step; and they surpassed all of my expectations! This is not something I say for most people these days.
If you are wondering, I filled out my pre-qualification questions on March 8, made an offer on a house March 17, and closed on April 22. We could have closed earlier except waiting on other agencies. That is outstanding in this business. That being said, YOU must promptly fill out and return your paperwork! If Jackie needs documents, YOU need to send them in as soon as possible. They will do their best if you do yours! Okay enough rambling on, bottom line - Mission accomplishment and Outstanding Customer Service!
Jackie and Kevin – I cannot express enough how grateful I am for all your hard work and expertise, those qualities are hard to find these days. Thank you so much!
Clay Rose simplified buying our home from beginning to the end. Clay and his team kept us informed on where we were and what was needed to move forward in the loan process. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the service we received! Thanks Veterans Home Home Loans :)
The whole staff at Veterans United was very professional and easy to work with.
