Please understand the closing/title company procedures before you decide to use VU as your lender. They do not use a physical company, which delays the process and also adds many unprofessional aspects into the process. I met in a library to sign my documents with a notary public (no one from the bank was present) and I still do not have copies of the documents I signed nearly 2 weeks ago. The document signing was supposed to occur at my own home, which I did not allow for many reasons.
My fellow Veterans! Please, drop whomever you thought were assisting with your home purchase and join a great team and organization! I promise you will not be disappointed. For a number of reasons (no fault of my team's) my process was ongoing for 2 years. They were there every step of the way, motivating, informative and driven.
We want to also commend Ashley who helped us with our loan application. She was extremely knowledgeable and helped relieve any concerns we had with a completely online/remote refinance application system. The whole VU mortgage team was professional and handled our application as if it was their sole primary effort. We would recommend them to our family and friends.

10 out of 10. I would highly recommend this to any qualified veteran out there looking to buy a house. There's always a different specialist assigned to my home loan team that can answer all my questions for me. It's a comforting experience for a big nerve-wracking investment.
All was perfect - just a little added stress at the very last minute that probably didn’t need to happen. Please keep a tighter schedule on final numbers, closing times and bank holidays. Had the numbers been communicated even a few hours earlier, would have saved a lot of stress. My out of town credit union stepped up (I begged them) but they didn’t have to and that would have created a mess.Otherwise, the process was easy... great and I’ve already told friends and would recommend Y and Josh.
