My team for this process was not reactive to correspondences as I would have liked. I was ahead of schedule and addressed all requested immediately but I could not get details unless I made calls. From the beginning I told the team I would be a mail away application and the week of closing I had to jump through hoops to get documents handled on my own because the process was not properly planned.

Without a company like Veterans United lots of Veterans would have a hard time purchasing a home, especially those that live in areas like South Florida. There are many Veterans that had to move out of their hometown because they could not afford the high house prices in the area they grew up in and after returning back to their hometown several years later they find themselves priced out of the housing market. Without knowing about Veterans United most of them ended up moving to another location. I referred Veterans United to one of my work colleague that was born and raised in Miami that was about to leave to another state until I told her to give Veterans United a try. Veterans United makes going VA as simplified as A VA Loan can be. There is more paperwork when going VA. But if you have all that paperwork handy and submit it on the app under your account, it goes smooth. They check to make sure you are getting the best deal and make sure you know other options. They answers any questions you may have about your loan.

Great rates! My closing company said my rate was the lowest they had seen. Very friendly and courteous staff. Although I didn’t really need it, the concierge service is great to offer as well to help with finding local utilities and services. My loan officer Dustin kept me informed and was always available and quick to return calls.
The “To Do” list is easy to use to upload documents.

We are return clients because of the great rates and some of the best, if not the best customer service available. Especially our loan officer who we requested by name for the second time. Everyone we worked with was courteous, professional and competent. Highly recommended, especially if you are a Veteran!
The service was great for the first 50% or so. After moving to underwriting, I could never get ahold of anyone. I left voicemails, called several times a day, sent texts and emails. If I got a response, it was via email at 9pm. Closing ended up being delayed three different times and the rep was not communicating with me or my realtor. I had previously recommended a friend to Veterans United, but I have since called to redirect them and avoid the hassle.

I’ll ONLY do business with Joel. He’s been our loan officer for more than six years now and as long as he’s still with VU, I’ll keep using VU every time. I hope VU realizes the type of quality person Joel is. You don’t normally find resourceful, kind, and genuine people like Joel in the home buying business. I’d describe him as a brightly shinning star in the process.
