Overall I had a good experience and would recommend to others. However the Va needs to be more upfront with some of the documents that they need and not spring them on the buyer at the last minute. That was the most frustrating part of the whole process. Underwriter issues could have went smoother

The Veterans United Website and portal was simple and allowed us to be able to easily upload documents required during our loan approval process.
I shopped around and asked a lot of friends when approaching our first mortgage, we got a lot of recommendations, but by-and-large Veterans United was the #1 recommended lender. I have to say, they were not wrong, we are grateful to have had such a painless experience, from beginning to end.Lastly, we'd like to point out that the only thing we would change is the escrow company we worked with, I'm not sure if one or our agents picked it or if VU picked it, but the distance became a factor as we got closer to closing day –– they were located about 2 hours away from us. They were also great, but being that they were so far our final closing was delayed a bit.Thanks again Veterans United, truly a wonderful experience working with you!
