This is the fourth home I have purchased during my lifetime. Hands down, the PEOPLE are the best I have worked with. Unfortunately, Veterans United has a slow underwriting process that left a bad taste in my mouth. The additional paperwork/documentation requested AFTER we had an accepted offer on a home was RIDICULOUS. At times, it felt like a part-time job just to get them the needed documentation. In fact, SIX WEEKS AFTER we had an 'accepted offer' on a home, they were still requesting additional documentation. It is hard to explain to my employer why they are contacting him for documentation on the SAME DAY we are CLOSING on the home. I understand we are in a 'COVID world' and lenders put more scrutiny on mortgages. I also understand a VA home loan has unique hurdles. Unfortunately, it seems the Veterans United underwriting system is broken. It honestly felt like I was working with Veterans Affairs.....Great people in a broken system.

Veterans United had a very smooth, professional, and disciplined process. I didn't feel pressured throughout the process and the loan specialist made himself available when I needed him. I am very appreciative of the support I received.

Jennifer and Kris are an excellent team. They are proactive and organized and both provide excellent customer service. I would never hesitate to recommend. My situation was a little unique and required extra attention but that was no problem for these two professionals. They got it done with ease and are saving me a great deal of money over the life of my loan. I am very happy and will continue to recommend Jennifer Candler!

I understand the times right now due to Covid, and I’m sure it’s placed a nice backlog on the loan coordinators, but I think there should be some more communication, especially with first time home buyers who are buying privately.
