The experience was fine. Being the second home we've purchased, I would add that Veterans United was better than a brick and mortar lender that we previously had used. My ONLY complaint was how long closing took. 3 hours after arriving we still hadn't gotten a wire, and that bothered me because I was burning valuable UHaul hours. Great overall experience. I'd do it again.

The only somewhat negative review I have concerns Holly King, Loan Officer's Assistant. Her emails were extremely difficult to read. She had so much permanent text in them it was difficult, at times, to get to the actual subject matter of the email. She forwarded every email to me, even though the emails were for the realtors only. She sent me a couple of corrupted files to open, and when I couldn't, she suggested it was my computer and that I needed to open them using another method. It wasn't my computer. I had no problem opening other files in the same format. She sent a couple of emails to my realtor that I thought were a little condescending. The mood of the email suggested she had to tell the realtor what to do, as if the realtor didn't know. The thing that bothered me most regarding Ms King is that in the very first email I got, she said I couldn't call her. I had a lot of questions for her during the process that I couldn't call and ask about. I had to send her an email and wait for the reply. The paragraph below is directly from her email.

---I do not have access to my voicemail when I am outside of the office. Due to the nature of my job during regular business hours I am typically on quiet hours reviewing paperwork, and am rarely available by phone. Email is the best and most effective way to reach me.---

I feel like I should have been able to call her with my questions. Who doesn't have access to their voicemail in this day and age? I realize she has a lot of paperwork to go over, but so does Alberto, and I was able to call him any time. My perception of Ms King was that she was too important for me to bother her. I guess her job title explains it, though. She is there to assist the loan officer and not the loan applicant.

I originally saw an ad from Veterans United and decided to give it a try...what did I have to lose. I left my info and they were prompt in getting back with me. Their team of professionals guided me every step through the process with courteous and outstanding customer service skills. They are truly there to serve! Veterans United is your one stop shop for obtaining a VA Loan as well as finding and purchasing. I was able to obtain a preapproval, find a beautiful home and close within a little over a month! Matter of fact when I first spoke to my outstanding Loan Specialist Debbie, her first words were "how soon are you looking to purchase", I told her that I would like to be in before Christmas and she said without hesitation...."Guess we better get started!" she seemed to be truly excited for me. So, if you're reading this and see the date then you'll realize that they helped make it happen before Thanksgiving!

Working with Veterans United was incredible. Fast, easy and very efficient.
I highly recommend Veterans United to any veteran looking for a loan.

If you live on the West Coast consider a company that is on the same time schedule. Veterans United staff were very friendly and helpful and we closed early with there help, but they were very had to catch on the phone.

I couldn't be more pleased with the experience! I live in an area with a highly competitive market and we were able to find and obtain a home we absolutely love. It felt overwhelming to at the start of this processes but once we decided to work with Veterans United everything just started clicking. They were astoundingly efficient and both our loan and real estate agent were fantastic! I will be recommending Veterans United to my brothers who are also veterans.
