Loan team was awesome and addressed all our questions in a timely and thorough manner.
I wasn’t sure what I was getting into with Veterans United when I asked for their help with a loan but I was very pleased with the results. They took care of all the paperwork and I never needed to worry about anything. I would definitely use them again if I needed to.
Fantastic experience overall.
As a first time home buyer. This whole experience was great! Went amazingly smooth for me and my family.
Everyone worked so hard to help me through my first home purchase! I would definitely recommend everyone on my team! I'm extremely pleased and grateful!
Veterans United is amazing! They're a top-notch home lender company, especially for veterans. They provide excellent service and support throughout the entire home loan process. Highly recommended! 👍🏼🏡
I want to personally thank Kyle Bakker & his team for their responsiveness throughout this process & their dedication to making my dreams of homeownership a reality!
I would be truly remiss if I didn’t thank Jeff and Paul. They were both stellar and awesome to have worked with!Paul professionalism and promptness is remarkable. He broke things down for me to understand. Analytics at its best!My initial call to inquire about services Jeff answered. He gave me hope that this was possible. With this market I was close to giving up. I thank God that it was Jeff that answered. I will forever be grateful to him and his kindness.
I love working with Veterans United. They help you step by step. They make the process easy. Even put up with all of my questions. 😁
It was great working will you all.

23 years old buying my first home, Veterans United helped me as much as they could and made the process smooth. Forever thankful for Trevor and his team!
Made it all possible!
This is my second home purchase with VU and I am still amazed at how streamlined you guys have made what was already a smooth operation.
Jake was great to work with and very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a VA loan.
I had a good experience with them the last time I used them and trusted them to handle everything correctly. This time I was a little disappointed though whenever I had mentioned wanting to put a down payment on my home to save myself some money with the high interest rates and lower my payments and they mentioned I would just pay at closing like no further action was needed at the time when I brought it up..Well 2 days prior to closing however I asked this question again and my loan officer freaked out a little bit and said we’d have to go back into underwriting. It would have been better if they clarified this with me when I went under underwriting initially considering I communicated this with them beforehand in writing..Additionally when talking to other veterans who have used a different VA loan service, Veterans United asked me for some strange things in comparison to what other Servicemembers I spoke with were asked for. The first time I bought they asked me for 12 months of bills from three different companies which was difficult to special request this far back on three different companies. This time they asked me to make a statement that I would essentially stay in the military until retirement which I thought was very strange. I would not want to refer any friends especially those not sure if they will serve their entire maximum commitment only to have their loan rejected for not making a statement that would have such major implications for the rest of their life or career. Some people need to leave before retirement to handle family issues or for medical or general reasons. All this to say, the service was okay but after feeling like I got screwed on the down payment I don’t think I would recommend it and will probably refinance with a different company when rates improve because in just one year this makes the difference of 20K dollars in just one year when considering equity and interest that I could have saved so I would have appreciated it if the team hadn’t made any assumptions about my circumstances or ignored my previous requests… I didn’t make a stink about it because I didn’t want everyone else in the deal to get screwed and wanted us to close on time but I should have.
Response from Veterans United
Hello Ashlyn, thank you for taking the time to share this information with our team. We understand how important it is to feel valued as a customer and were thrilled that your initial experience was such a good one. Your recent experience however, does not fit our intention of providing personable and attentive service to everyone we serve. It is imperative that we look into your comments further as a potential training opportunity. The mortgage process can certainly feel intrusive, but we want to reassure you that this in-depth analysis is a worthwhile step. The underwriting process serves to protect the integrity of our industry and families who might otherwise fall into a financial hardship. We value your thoughts on improving our process. Our Client Advocate team would love to talk more with you about your experience so that we may take steps to improve wherever possible for future clients.
