All in all, my advice to future veterans is this, go with a local bank/credit union wherever you're deciding to plant roots. My reasons are below.1. This is NOT the fault of the loan team that handled my case, but the operating system that VU uses is one of the worst I've dealt with in my life. I submitted documents over and over again before the system would accept it. In addition to that, when I was required to give explanations for certain situations, the system would time out on me, but only after I would push the "submit" button to give my response. It was a hassle to get things submitted on the "To Do List." And there are enough things to do during the process where this becomes incredibly frustrating.2. This one DOES apply to my loan team. The loan team conducted an employment verification about 10 or so days before my original closing date, and I got a call from someone on the loan team saying my wife and I could no longer buy the house due to a funding issue on my part (this was something I had asked them about months ago and they said it would be no issue). During the call I reminded them that we spoke about this in the past and they said it would have no impact, but they replied with, sorry, but the underwriter doesn't like it. 30 minutes later I got a call back telling me everything was ok. It all turned out fine in the end, but the stress with the process increased exponentially, and my confidence with the loan team plummeted.3. This one IS on the loan team again. My realtor and I would have questions for the loan team, and we couldn't get someone to answer the phone for multiple days (to include messages). It doesnt sound like much, but when you're waiting for an answer to make a move on a house, it becomes a bigger issue. On the plus side, the loan team was incredibly responsive during the week of closing. Any question my realtor had or I had were answered in minutes. My personal opinion is that Veterans United deals with too many accounts to give customers in the early/mid stages the attention they give customers in closing week. Go with a local bank. You'll likely have more success. This was my first home purchase, and my veteran sibilings had reccomended I use a local bank, but I went with what I thought was best. I wish I had listened to them.

The American Promise to Veterans who have served and their widow and orphan is a solum and sacred one to which the VA alone is unable to fulfill. Veterans United working alongside VA and utilizing the resources intended for Veterans fills in the gap to make that promise a reality. Dedicated professionals like Mr Dustin Johnson and Nicky Blevins through passion and sense of purpose worked so hard to make my dream come true in record time. I had an eviction notice after the house I rented was sold. Six weeks later in a home owner thank to the VA Loan Program , Veterans United and dedicated professionals like Mr Johnson and Mrs Blevins.

Charles McKee, my loan guy, was amazing right from the start. I was going through some very difficult times and my experience with him and Veteran's United was the only light at the time. I was soon to be divorced and didn't know how go about buying a house, let alone get a loan. Charles is warm, considerate, soft spoken, and elite at what he does. He truly cared about me and still checks in occasionally. And though I come from a family of veterans, I am not one and still, I felt like I was the priority through the entire process.Thank you Charles and thank you Veteran's United!

Veterans United was excellent. We were taken care of from the moment we thought we wanted to move and buy a new house. They helped us understand how much was available for our new home. They helped with real estate agents, assisted with finding insurance, utilities, step by step "to do" lists, helped with everything. We never felt alone, they were only a call away. Our calls were always answered. Mason Fast was amazing through the entire experience. I definitely would encourage other veterans to take the leap into buying a home and allowing Veterans United to lead the way.

Alberto and his team were awesome to work with. They made the entire home buying process very smooth. From the on-line check list to emails and phone calls to make sure everything was on track. Not too many of either, but enough that nothing went without an answer.

Listen up gents,
I wasnt in the position to buy a home but this VU team headed by Mr. Paul Betts steered me in the right direction to prepare ourselves to purchase our home we were living in already as renters so we wouldnt have to once again uproot and disturb our family, Paul didnt hesitate to be side by side with us in the trenches and figure out our goal even when the muck got thick we weathered the storm and prevailed
To the entire VU team my family wishes to extend an invitation to our home if you ever find yourselves in California, our casa es tu casa, thank you guys for your hard work

I truly enjoyed the entire team, everyone was patient and very helpful! They always answered when called no matter the time or situation. I’ve never seen Tyler or Jennifer but I felt as if we were related lol! My husband and I felt protected and cared for! Everything went smooth even though we had a couple hiccups but it wasn’t on the VA end. Thank you so much for everything.
