My loan officer, documents specialists and general team SERIOUSLY went to WORK for us, like very few civilian teams have!
My credit needed work so I was put on a plan which I thought was an immediate no as we'd attempted several times within the last 5 years to buy a home and we're always turned down even with a good paying job and over 640 credit score by traditional banks etc. It was honestly disheartening as well as demoralizing.
When I told my wife my plan back in May of this year to be in good standing and looking for a home by November I KNOW she was as skeptical as I secretly was due to all of the failed previous attempts.
Todd and the team SERIOUSLY allowed me to keep to my goal, my Wife's energy is COMPLETELY different now as we are in the process of moving into our new home!
This was the most pleasant process as it was so buttery smooth that at times I THOUGHT this was too good to be REAL, as cool little gifts came to the house we were renting along with weekly updates of the loan, title, etc process rolled along I thought for surely this is gonna be another build up to a no.
Around the time the title came back and the final appraisal was done and the loan moved closer into a CTC status (my team advised me that this means Clear To Close!) I started ACTUALLY getting excited that THIS might actually work this time!

I loved my loan team. They worked together flawlessly to make sure I got the home I wanted without any hiccups.
I started seriously looking for a new home on a Thursday in late January 2026. It dawned on me that to help determine my affordability, I should get "pre-qualified". During a session of looking at what houses were available in my area I found a house that looked like a good fit for me. At the bottom of the listing was a link to get pre-qualified. The link had a Veterans connection so I pursued this offer by clicking the link. I was "immediately" called by Veterans United Home Realty's Christian Baker. Wow...things started moving with pre-qualifying that determined my affordability that narrowed down my home choices. Right away I had a pre-qualified dollar amount and a source for a professionally formated "offer" letter to provide to sellers. Everything about the service Veterans United provided me was thorough, and easily completed in a todo style communication between me and underwriter for my home loan. I set up my account with Veterans United where we collected all of the documents needed for the underwriting process. When an uploaded document in my to-do list was reviewed, it shows that task completed. The clarity kept things rolling along and 29 days later I closed on my new home.
Everyone is so nice and worked quickly to get to closing on time. Would recommend them to everyone.
The whole loan team, especially my loan officer Tyson Smith, was extremely responsive, transparent, and helpful throughout the home buying process. They were also able to get us to close in time (in under a month).
