Working with Veteran's United was fairly straight forward, lots of communications, and the "to-do's" made it feel we were always on track. When you work with VU expect a lot of people on your team which has pros and cons. You have a loan specialist, coordinator, and officer all which know of your situation however all have different responsibilities and I experienced posing a question to one when the question was should have been answered by a different team member. I will add all of my questions were responded to and answered either same day or following day.

Made it very simple for us.

As a USMC Veterans, I have been trying to purchase a home for a long time. No matter what I tried it seemed like there were too many doors getting closed on us. Veterans United has been totally the opposite of those other Veterans friendly groups. They guided me and gave me all the information I needed to qualify for a new home. From day one I was treated like a family member and was give the upmost attention. From the time I was introduced to a local realtor to the day we were given the keys, my family and I were taken care of.
I am a founder of a local Veterans group in our community and currently serving as its President. I have informed those who are still renting or thinking about purchasing a home to contact Veterans United first. They have been a blessing to my family and want to make sure their family is taken care of too.

They made home buying a breeze!! They made sure I was being taken care of the whole process!

Larry was great to work with

Very enjoyable experience

Very unorganized, could never get updates or answers about anything in a timely manner. Loan coordinators would only bring up problems the day before they need to be done even after telling us for weeks that nothing needed to be done. One of our loan coordinators would only respond to emails once every couple of days to important questions or information. Went under contract in June and didnt close until the middle of November due to deed issues with the house. Veterans United needed more documentation but would not actually tell us what they needed and lied several times about when they would be obtaining the information so we could get everything done. The Realtor they paired us with was very unresponsive and ignored requests for showings and never actually helped us with anything in any way so we decided to not work with a realtor at all. Overall pretty terrible experience across the board without really any positives other than finally being able to close on the home.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Ian,
I’m really sorry to hear how stressful and drawn out your experience felt. Going that long without clear updates or timely answers isn’t the kind of support you should have during a homebuying process, and I can understand why you’re frustrated. The last-minute requests, delays, and communication gaps you described aren’t what I want for any of our borrowers, and I’d like to take a closer look at what happened. If you’re open to it, please reach at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com so my team can learn more and help address your concerns.

Jon is a wonderful loan officer. Quick to response and always available.

Sam and his team were with me every step of the way, helpful to a t, and checked in often. I appreciate that the VU experience continues to be top notch. A huge reason I came back for my 2nd home purchase is because of my fantastic experience the first time, and now I'll continue to recommend VU to everyone I know looking to purchase a home.

Was such a better experience than I ever thought it would be. Veterans United helped us get into our dream home even during a sellers' market. Justin was nothing but supportive and transparent and helped me through the entire process. Could not be happier to use my VA Loan benefit with help from the Veterans United team!

Overall, everyone I communicated with was courteous and helpful. I appreciate them assisting me with parts of the process I did not understand as a first-time home buyer.

Jason Crone and Ashley Fuller were great to work with! They were very attentive and patient with my questions and always answered quickly, which meant a lot to my wife and I because home buying is pretty stressful. Jason also locked us into a lower interest rate just before an increase.VU’s site makes uploading your documents painless and the portal lets you know when they’ve been processed. The “To Do” list also made it easy to grasp what needed to be done to get our loan approved quickly. I can’t think of a way to make that process easier.
