In December 2006, I obtained a VA loan from Chase Bank. 9 months later we were transferred to Korea and after 13 months I had to medically retire. We wound up losing the house. In October of 2011, we had moved to Las Vegas. We tried to buy a home there and were told by a VA Home Specialist that we could still get a VA loan. We applied and everything was going good, and a week before we were to close. He advised us the VA turned us down. We lost money on the deal, but got back the flooring money we paid. We eventually bought a house in Las Vegas through FHA. We sold it when we moved back to Hawaii. When we decided to buy here, we thought we could only afford a home that cost more because of the down payment required and that we were still ineligible for a VA loan. Our realtor at the time recommend we call Cheryl and talk to her. I did and she assured me that we could still get a VA loan. I was skeptical because of my experience in Vegas, but Cheryl convinced me to apply and the rest is history. As a Vietnam Vet, it is really nice when you find someone to help a veteran. It's something we Vietnam Vets aren't used to. Kudos to Cheryl, and give her a big raise and bonus, she deserves it. And thank you Veterans United Home Loans.
