I liked the online tracker but didn't find it very user friendly for uploading and keeping track. The best part of my experience with VU was working with Ryan and Ben. Both of them kept on top of things and followed up and were very positive. I worked the most with Ryan and he did a fantastic job of making sure all I needed to do got done in a very timely fashion. I had a great experience and now a great home. Good work to all.
Overall, the team did what they had to do. The hard part for us was, we did not know for sure... we would be able to get a home as my income had gone down, and so we had to buy a less expensive house. Not a lot of choice.
I did not like not knowing for sure until the last minute as:
1. We had a lease that was out on June 30.. made things hard to get moved before that time
2. Because of the timing... we could not contact Gas Company, Electrice Company, Post Office, Bank, or anyone until we were walking out the door. Very hard on us to get the house, then arrange for services that were needed.
But, I would do it again ad it is a nice house and we're enjoying it now.
Would have like to review the final numbers, with loan officer, before closing.
I would like to say that Caleb Bales done a good job but did slip on a few important things such as seeing in my file that we needed a second appraisal and did not order one which delayed closing he said that they should have paid closer attention to our file which may me very upset because there overlooks caused me money that I should have not have to spend but other than that he was o.k . Ted Richardson was terrible was never right on anything he told us but I am glad the process is over now and we can just move on. No raise should be given on this account hope other customers will have a better experience than we did.
Mr. Caleb Bales provided me with fantastic service during our loan relationship. He answered all my questions either by phone or via e-mail. His work was truly great customer service personified. I would recommend him highly to other veteran retirees for any loan service they may required.

Doris was not my original Real Estate Agent at the start of my VA Loan application, but once she started working with my wife and I on our search for our dream home, she treated us like family and we feel that we gained a very good close friend and Ali She did not have much experience with VA Loans before us, but she learned quickly and I believe she's now an expert. I recommend her highly and hope you will add her to your network of realtors. She deserves to work with Veterans and with your great company. Thank you.
Devon's assistant Elaina Rombach was amazing! She always found us information and answered any and all of our questions. If she said she would call back, she did. She also worked with the seller of our home to get her calmed down when Devon could not.
Sam is amazing that is all I have to say not only am I referring all my friends to him but my realitor loved him so much she is also referring all her vets to him as well. It could not have been a smoother process. I came to same flustrated and sad because another lender told me that I did not qualify for my VA loan and was trying to mke me go conventional or FHA ao I went for a second opionion. I called VU and got Sam and he was polite and said he would try his best to help me and he did and now I am in my dream home and My family and I could not be happier. Thank you so much Sam Bromley.
It was such a pleasure to work with Donald Webber, he has made the stresses of first time home ownership a pleasurable one. His knowledge, experience, and skills were very impressive.
A long story short, our first purchase of home went great and smooth. Then a streamline was offered to us. After numbers were run, we'd end up saving about $150 a month or maybe a little more and closing costs would be about $5k. Then my wife's credit somehow fell below the threshold and I ended up having to be the sole loan requester. When all was said and done, we had to have an appraisal (which we were told we wouldn't), a pest inspection (which was done 6 months prior), all kinds of docs had to be resubmitted (which VU already had from the initial purchase), employment verification (which nothing had changed on), and I find out that closing costs have gone from about $5k to upward of $13k when all is said an done. So going from a savings of $150 a month or more on a monthly payment to just a mere $66 made this pretty much not worth it, not to mention the fact we just added $13k onto our loan amount. Zach was very apologetic throughout this entire process. He had told us one thing (which turned out to be exactly what he had been told) and then apparently things had changed that he didn't know about until later which came to us like a punch in the stomach. He ended up paying for the appraisal (in good faith). He ended paying for the rate extensions and the lowering of the rate in order to qualify because it was VUs fault that we were in this mess. I can honestly say that my 2nd experience with VU was not a good one; in fact it was a nightmare and the only thing that saved it was Zach, his integrity, sincerity, and honesty. He was out for a period of time having a baby and information was coming in (apparently) that didn't come to us through his team that he found out about upon his return. He jumped right on it to fill me in and was very apologetic about everything. You could tell he was frustrated and upset.
If I knew now what I was going to be getting into, I would have gone somewhere else so as not to have to deal with such a large closing cost. I almost feel raped in this transaction. Just not a good way for a VETERAN to feel but in the end, we felt like we had to do something in order to try and save a little money, So that was our experience. Would I use them again??? Something that I will have to think about for a long time. Pretty sure there is nothing you can do for me now and since I'm at a 4% now, almost definitely sure you can't do a thing about anything now. So thanks for my $66 savings. All I can say is you're very lucky to have a guy like Zack; someone working for you with Integrity.
Are agents Brenna and Pam met with us and spent time getting to now all the things that my wife and I were looking for and when Brenna showed us the 3rd house that was the one that was are house, and had the WOW factor and we made an offer that day.
We had never purchased a home before and Brenna made sure all are questions were taken care off and she made a through exam off the house. We told here the payment we were looking for and she had the payment and we love are house. Pam and Brenna were awesome.
When I drove up the drive and walked in the home My wife and I looked and told Brenna This is the house we want and asked here to make an offer. Thank you so much.
I just want to say that we had no idea of the process of buying a home but after all the help we got it was just incredible Thank you so much. Dan and Michele
