Jeff Ferguson and Meredith Pettit were amazing. They processed a loan in less that 45 days which was phenomenal. They were cordial, professional and helpful throughout the process. They let me know what they needed and I always tried to respond immediately to keep the process moving. I had concerns that I woudl not be able to hot a deadline set by the seller of July 1st, and quite honestly, I had my doubts. Veterans United pulled it off. I give a salute to the whole Veterans United team, but It woudl not have been possible without all of the hard work of Jeff and Meredith. I di dnot make it easy for them either, I called constantly trying to get updates on teh status, but through it all they were top notch, courteous and polite. Kudos to both of them and Megan Satterly who helped me with my credit score! She gave me the right advice to make all of this possible!

I understand that the requirements for securing a home loan are more stringent now than before , however, it would be less stressful/frustrating for the purchaser if they were not told these are the "last" items you will need to send everything to the underwritter and then after be told there are additional items needed (not including the extra requirements from underwriter).
There were several times I would get information from the transaction coordinator only to have it contradicted by the loan officer; they didn't seem to always be on the same page.

There were a number of small details that needed attention in the 11th hour. It seemed that most of those could have been dealt with sooner instead of so late in the approval process.
Changing from one loan officer to another after we had remitted a considerable amount of information appeared to complicate matters somewhat and created some redundant work.
I'm glad my loan was able to be processed. Matt did inform me of everything I needed to do in order to get qualified. He did pull off alot in order to get me approved and what he could to get my closing costs down to a minimum. However, the only problem I had was getting my rate locked when I wanted it. I don't understand much about the mortgage rates. All I knew is that rates were going up, and that I should lock it as soon as I could. I requested my rate locked 3 times and finally got it locked on my 3rd request. If Matt would have locked me in when I made the first request, I would of been locked at 3.75% as stated in my intial estimate. Then again, my second request I could of locked at 4%, but was told I shouldn't because rates may go down...this did not happen. At the beginning of my conversation with Matt my 3rd request to lock, it was finally locked at 4.375. I know I was lucky rates are even this low, however, how much money could I as the customer could of saved over time, if my request was honored the first time I wanted to lock my rate?
Our loan officer was wonderful. He explained everything very well with us and stayed in great contact with us at all times, letting us know what was going on. Nick, you talk too much. Take a breath and leave some room for the customer to say something. You normally answer all possible questions, but a customer may like to feel like they are contributing to the conversation. If the customer doesn't ask a question you feel they should then offer the answer. I am not saying to not speak, just give the customer an opportunity now an then in the conversation to put his or her two cents in.
My husband and I were very impressed with the quality of service we received from Mr. Johnson. He was always available when we had a question. It's so common to have to deal with automated services with businesses today, but we had a direct line to Mr. Johnson. When we did our loan closing, my husband had a question about one of the forms we were signing, and it was a relief when we were able to call Mr. Johnson and he addressed our concerns. Customer service is a huge plus for this company. They treat their customers with the most respect and that did not go unnoticed during our process. Thank you so much!

I know its a home loan but if some how (and not just Veterans United), could stream line the paper work process...
We were very pleased with Mr Mange's team of assistants, yet felt like it would have been nice for us to have an initial couple of direct contacts before handing us off to his colleagues. He always seemed too busy for us at the beginning. This changed once he saw that we were closer to committing and now we were suddenly worth more to him and worth his time. We had a very unpleasant experience at the end of our time with him prior to closing. At one critical point he had made some promises that gave us the confidence to continue with our commitment to purchase, then turned around and did not deliver on them, after we had already invested money into inspections and other pre-closing costs. We felt taken advantage of and cheated. Additionally, he called me and complained about my wife to me two days before closing, which I found very offensive and unprofessional. We almost called off the whole deal because of his unethical and unprofessional behavior. Certainly not our idea of excellent customer service. We were very disappointed with our overall experience and will not be recommending VU to others despite our positive experience with his team and the other VU departments that handled our loan.
Although I do not have a lot of experience with loan officers, Katie has blown me away with her work ethic. I don't know if it would have been possible for anyone to work harder to make the process any more smooth for me than it was. Her responsiveness at any time was extremely impressive. That along with the amount of detail provided when she needed something from me prevented having to redo things many times. When the time comes for me to use another loan officer I cannot imagine not using Katie.
