Poor overall experience. Way too many people involved, main person I was dealing with was on a plane during closing. Was promised 600-800 dollars at time of closing, but instead they ended up *trying* to bill me like $150 at time of closing. Also sent me a lot of HUD’s with incorrect numbers. I will not be recommending this lender to any of my veteran friends at all. I wish I would’ve used a different company.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Noah,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm sorry to hear your experience didn't meet your expectations. I understand how frustrating it can be to work with multiple people throughout the loan process, especially during a critical time like closing.
I'm also sorry to hear about the confusion surrounding the closing figures and the concerns you had regarding the costs presented to you. Clear communication and accurate information are important, and I can understand why this experience left you disappointed.
I'd like the opportunity to learn more about what happened. Please contact me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. The Client Advocate team is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and messages received outside those hours are typically returned the next business day.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager

My wife Marjorie and I would like to Thank the staff of Veterans United Home Loan very much for accepting us to refinance our home mortgage through you. I was quite impressed to receive a txt call and email after filling out an online application from
MS Jen Huppert introducing herself to be the agent handling our application. we received and immediate quote on the same evening that same day and compared her quote with 3 other lenders. We like her quote because it gives us more breathing room from the old one, so we proceed to go forward with her. She was meticulous on her instructions, directions and guidance getting all our documents submitted correctly in a timely manner. She was very professional and new her job well, she has shown great tact and communicates very respectfully to myself and my wife which made us more comfortable with Veterans United. if we ever run into families and friends trying refinance their homes, we would gladly recommend Veterans United and contact MS Jen Huppert. A big Mahalo to VU.Semper Fidelis

This is the 2nd time we have used Veterans United to purchase a home under the VA home loan program. Just like the 1st time, they were able to get us approved while other National competitors told us no. Our loan officer did an outstanding job with follow-ups and keeping us informed. He and his team led us on every step of the way. Veterans United with make you home buying journey a pleasant one.

Nick and his entire team are truly exceptional and I'd recommend them to all that have served! They made the entire process easy and are always very responsive and helpful with any questions you may have.

The team I had made it a smooth transition, outstanding job!!!!

Working with our loan officer, Moya, to secure our first home was smooth because Veterans United employees work tirelessly to lower barriers and make the home buying process fun! They set us up with a phenomenal real estate agent, Alissa, who gave us great advice and found a great home for us.

Tommy was hands down an incredible person and resource for us through this refinance process. We cannot imagine anyone possibly being better.

My recent home buying and closing process with Veterans United loan team Jon M, Kyle B, Jason M, and Leslie G was absolutely seamless and I couldn’t be happier!I was in the home buying process with navy federal loan team and under contract to purchase a property. Navy fed messed up my loan file, didn’t issue disclosures, and didn’t collect documents from me in timely manner, were unprofessional by not responding to communication within a couple of business days, and pushed the professional boundaries in the cash to close negotiation by asking for a large downpayment last minute even though I was using a VA no downpayment loan. NF caused total chaos and the seller and I to miss our closing date. On closing, day navy fed loan team was not reachable and my real estate agent had to extend the contract closing date by 4 weeks!I contacted Veterans United that day and the loan team stepped in immediately to rescue the deal to close on the new date and they gave me a pre-approval letter the same day I reached out to them. The Veterans United process was fast, seamless, and respectful of the agents, sellers and my schedules. Jon M, Kyle B, and Jason M, Leslie G got all my required documents on time, were extremely responsive to my real estate agent and I by email and phone communication during the entire process. We closed on June 12th and this was the best loan closing process that I have ever had. This was due to Jon, Kyle, Jason, and Leslie’s timely professionalism and VU process of collecting required documents in the online portals and expediting them to the underwriter. When the underwriter needed more information Jon, Kyle, Jason, and Leslie, kept me updated in real time allowing the decision making process and closing process to move forward at lightning speed.I highly recommend Veterans United and the loan team Jon M, Kyle B,Jason M, and Leslie G. Veterans United is the only VA loan provider I will use. Thank you!
