I was never asked before the process began if I had money to pay for the inspection, appraisal, earnest money, or closing costs. These costs should be explained to people before they even apply for a mortgage.
Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our experience with Veterans United. It is such a beneficial resource for veterans and active-duty service members, and we are incredibly grateful it exists. While we would have found a way, having Veterans United made the entire home-buying process feel like a true blessing for my husband and me. Also the guidance, support, and care we received from the team provided to us were truly amazing, and we are so thankful for the people who helped walk us through every step of the process. We couldn’t be more grateful for this experience.

The whole team worked very hard to process paperwork and explain the process of how the loan is being worked and why requests for information were made. Communication was great, VU was always available if I had questions and always asked if there was any thing I needed. Overall, great job by the team I had at VU.

We weren't working with a realtor yet, so he even arranged a meeting with a local realtor in the Norfolk area. She was fantastic, and they worked together seamlessly throughout the entire process! Phil was so quick to get back to us, answer questions, and was always thorough in his explanations and updates. He worked on several hurdles to get us into the final closing, and went to great lengths to ensure that we were in our new home before Christmas! We really appreciate all of his team's hard work.
