I might recommend veterans united if I knew more. I have purchased several homes in my lifetime, but I have never, ever been drug through the ringer proving anything and everything about my life, my service, my finances, and producing documents to prove everything. I might have achieved a bit of a lower interest rate on my loan, but I had to pay $129.00 to dig up documents from the V.A. to produce proof of my service. I am 75 years old with an excellent credit rating, but I felt like I was a second rate citizen with serious problems in my past. I am told all these requirements were due to the V.A. If so, I feel sorry for our veterans who have to travel the same path. I will never attempt another V.A. Loan, and I would not recommend it to any one else. If Veterans United were not at fault, then I can give them a thumbs up for their efforts. Anyway, I feel abused by the process.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Gary,
Thank you for your service and for sharing your experience so openly. I’m truly sorry to hear how discouraging the process felt for you. Having to track down so many documents and feeling like you were being questioned at every turn would be exhausting for anyone, and I regret that it left you feeling disrespected instead of supported.
Even though some requirements do come from the VA itself, I know that doesn’t lessen the frustration of going through it all. Veterans deserve to feel valued and respected throughout the homebuying journey, and I’m sorry that wasn’t the case here.
My team would appreciate the opportunity to listen if you’d like to connect directly. You can reach us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
I had a team that helped me through every part of home purchasing. They kept me on top of things & were very pleasant.all in all a great experience!
Our experience was great. Cal Thompson and the whole crew at Veterans United communicated with us at all times. They always let us know when they needed something. They treated us like we were family and our time was valuable and went out of their way to make things happen in order for us to get our home. Lyndsey with Heartland Properties - we couldn't have done it without her hard work and dedication and devotion. She stuck by our side to the end. Her communication with us was awesome. We couldn't be happier and all her team work paid off in the end. The hardest part was saying goodbye to her and Veterans United.
Smooth process-! Recommend highly! Thank you for the opportunity of owning a home!
Everyone on the team were knowledgeable and efficient. I was always treated with care and received quick responses to questions. Thank you

Tim and his team at veterans united were extremely professional and always responded to any questions and concerns I had for them during our home loan process.
They were very quick and fast, as well as efficient. Levi, Matt, and Kimberly were wonderful to work with! I would get frequent updates on where I’m at with the loan and what is needed to proceed. They really made the process so smooth and less stressful. Will definitely be buying another house with them when I need it.

Service was exceptional, every question was answered quickly.
All went well
Justin Menard my loan officer was above excellence. He was always available, on top of things, knowledgeable and very supportive. He treated me not only as a customer but as a friend and a brother. Absolute great experience with him. Other aspects outside of him such as realtor dropping the ball on issues was another story and that relationship which I discussed with Justin feel very short of being satisfactory. VETERANS UNITED AND JUSTIN were 110 percent to include all members of Justin's team. Thank you Justin and veterans united.
Veterans United helped me buy my first house. I went into this knowing I knew very little about home buying, and the team assisted my spouse and me the whole way through the transaction. We were able to leverage a cashback offer that other banks were offering for 1.75% on the home price as a way to either pay closing costs or to buy down our interest rate. We got lucky and our sellers agreed to pay the closing costs, so we got a great interest rate. If you are thinking about buying a home but you're not sure how to do it, I would recommend reaching out to someone at Veterans United. They will help you out! The only person on our team who was ever short with us was our Loan Coordinator. If there's a way to ask her to be a little kinder and more responsive, then the whole team would be PHENOMENAL!
