It was my first home and it was super easy. They took care of the heavy lifting and went above and beyond to make this a good experience.

I feel like I have been set up for success. There are a lot of unfamiliar details that come along as a first time buyer and again as we refinanced, and by the time I was faced with anything new or seemingly odd (again, unfamiliar territory), Brad had already given me a heads up on what to expect. I felt well prepared and supported. Therefore it was no surprise to get calls around the time I did as a heads up that I could refinance. I did not feel pressured, just informed, and once again the process was totally smooth. Considering the initial sale was full of speed bumps (to put it mildly), my mortgage experience was the easiest part. Great support from Veteran's United, and I tell any eligible friends I can to give you guys a call first.

The team went above & beyond to make sure that I had all of the information & options available while I was trying to figure out my first home purchase. There were several times that I hadn’t fully understood the wording & numbers on the closing paperwork, but they made sure to walk me through step-by-step so that I felt comfortable & knew what was going on. 2 days prior to closing (the 1st time 🤦♀️) we hit a snag with the seller failing to mention that she had a lien & was in foreclosure, so there was a hold on the sale, when the team found out, they immediately called to make sure that my family & I were ok & when they realized that we were left in a hotel (5 people & a dog) for an extra 10 days, they ended up sending a package with games & goodies to try & alleviate so of the stress that we were all dealing with. The team truly was a godsend & we greatly appreciate everything that they did to help us.

This is my 3rd home and my 1st time using VU and this was by far the easiest start to finish I ever had. I definitely would recommend Veterans United to my family and friends.

My recommendation is to not use Veterans United Home Loans.
Response from Veterans United

I had a great team! My loan officer loan specialist, concierge, and realtor were there with me 100%, and, all the way through, from beginning to end.
They were as happy for me when I closed as I was!!
I highly recommend VU. They are very professional, and, although most stuff is done through their portal, they make it very easy, and, they are right there with you.

Immensely satisfied with the level of professionalism and care provided by Veterans United.

From start to finish I was treated like gold very professional and knowledgeable nothing better then this whole process

Excellent service.

I am a first time home buyer. My first home is a $300,000 home that I have been expecting some time now. Veteran’s United made that possible. My loan team was extremely knowledgeable. I’m sure Veterans United can lead you too in your journey to become a homeowner.

The upfront online portal of uploading for preapproval and sending my general documents was very easy to do, however my experience was completely different when it came to interacting with my loan team.
we submitted only requested documents in a very timely matter, and were told we could close early, then 2 weeks went by with no communication from VU team, until my realtor's transaction coordinator reached out to ask what was going on, they then asked for more documents, which we promptly submitted. then nothing heard again, then we had to inquire again, to which they needed more documents, I had to relink my bank account 3 or 4 times which never ended up working, VU was requesting me to submit documents I had already submitted. When I reviewed my disclosures, I was told the numbers were just an estimate and don't focus on them cuz they were going to change, then when i reviewed my final disclosure the property tax rate was 2.5 times higher then what it should have been. I notified my VU team and they said it seemed odd but happens and that's what the rate is , they then inquired to the title company about the property tax rate who has nothing to do with the rate other then provide existing documents of the rate which they had 3 weeks earlier....in the meantime, we closed on the house at our scheduled time only to find out VU loan team said we shouldn't sign an hour after we already had! I talk with the title company and got it resolved and money refunded, meanwhile instead of coming up with solutions the VU team was pointing fingers at our title company. Overall was dissatisfied from the last 3 weeks of interactions, which ruined my previous positive experience. Our "home buying Concierge" just pestered us with phone calls trying to sell us home and auto insurance despite us already being set up and have new insurance for the new house.
