If you're unsure about who to get a VA through, this is the place to go. I looked around and talked to numerous people and places but eventually looked into Veterans United. This is really a well ran and organized outfit. They will really have your back through everything, especially since it's how they make a living.Honestly, you won't get any of the BS like Navy Federal or the other so call pro-military/veteran financial institutions. Veterans United will actually treat you like another human being and they genuinely want to help you utilize a VA Loan so you can get that sweet house with no down payment.Just copped a 294k house and I barely have credit but they got me and my wife on the right track. Started the process in the beginning of July and closed on a house October 1st. Now only if I could get them to fund an arena for Armored Combat Sports, they'd really be able to do it all.
Seemed to be an awful lot of hoops to jump through to get to use what was guaranteed to you through your years of service. Over all I am pleased that the folks that worked with me through the process did not give up on me when I was at my wits end.
Thirteen years ago my family fulfilled the statistic of the homeless veteran. A week ago we closed on our first home!! Veterans United has been a fantastic support system in getting us into this home. We didn't have the greatest credit so they assigned us a "credit coach" to assist us with which debts would be best to take care of and how to take care of them. Our Closing Counselor, Kari, was just short of perfection and practically held our hand as much as we needed to get us through and across the finish line. She really made me feel as though she was in this home buying battle with me, and she was! Our Home Buying Concierge, Heidi, was also phenomenal. She did all the last minute leg work tid bits like switching utilities and what not. That's a nice comfort to have, especially when you don't know you need it. And our Loan Officer, Ryan, was tremendous as well. His communication was always instant and his follow through was refreshing.We can't thank VU enough for helping us achieve this dream. Oh, and they send ya really cool gifts throughout the process. Thanks again VU!!
They really made this move as easy as they could,when everything else was soooo stressful.
My overall experience was great. The VA APP made it extremely easy to compile all the documents required in an organized manner. The only issue I had was the time it took to get the property value assessment completed. It took just over two weeks. I can come to understand why it may take that long. However if I’m paying for it, I feel I should be able to talk to the assigned appraiser, “which I’m paying” to get updates on the status.
