Overall, a good experience which ultimately got me into my dream home. The only recommendations I have for the team are:
1) let the buyer know exactly how much in assets they will need right before closing, so they won't have any issue the day of. What they have during the pre-approval may not be enough to get a confirmation to close.
2) communicate with the buyer in advance, how many credits they'll be able to use, prior to closing. I was told up until the day we closed, that we'd get X amount returned to us. They day of, we were told we wouldn't be due to VA regulations, and that the seller would be getting those credits back. At the end of the day, the team worked it out, but not without additional heartache and stress.
3) if a re-verification of employment is required, let the buyer know the day before they closed. I had to jump through hoops the day I closed to get this through. This is something that should be a usual requirement, known ahead of time.
For active duty and retired veterans, please attend the seminar held and waipio and you will not regret it. Within a few weeks this awesome staff will find your forever home and always be there for you. Judy and Sheryl have shared their busy lives with us as well as others.. I highly recommend veterans United to all our military veterans. Cammy and I are very pleased with our beautiful home and the awesome team will also provide some home improvement ideas.
Thank you to everyone associated with handling helping us.

Bravo Zulu to Veterans United. My wife and I had a very positive experience with VU from start to finish. We closed on our house with no issues and would recommend VU to any Veteran looking at purchasing a home.
My Loan Officer, Josh Kaplan is the best.......he was very upfront and open from the beginning on what we would expect during this process. I asked questions almost daily and not once did it ever seem that Josh was sick of hearing from me.......in fact he told me several times to call anytime if I had any concerns. Thank you VU and especially thank you Josh, your positive attitude and honesty were greatly appreciated..............
Feel free to contact VU as they are always very approachable and understanding
This was a very pleasant experience for me. I was very surprised at how easy it was. Chris went that extra mile to help. Thank you. Working with veterans United was a real pleasure. I would do it all over again.
Great company. Made it easy and painless!
Side note: Energy efficient loan is not for a lot of little improvements. Its really for one or two big improvements. Took a while to understand that. (due to all the requirements to obtain funding)
