Based on our experience, Veterans United needs better processes for higher end homes. Our home value is $1.4M and the appraisal review team and underwriters simply didn’t seem to know how to understand the custom type Of neighborhood we live in. They said they had never dealt with something as simple as variable setback and because the majority of houses in our neighborhood had private funding they felt our home was “the most expensive” and “not marketable”.... which was entirely inaccurate. The VA appraisal came in at $1.446M and we had a private appraisal come in at $1.4M, yet your team though the house was overvalued and not sellable. It took us a week to prove to them they were inaccurate. The inability to understand high homes made this portion of the process absolute infuriating. If it wasn’t for Chris we would likely have ended up in a congressional investigation because we began feeling like the lender simply didn’t want to honor the low-interest rates. Thankfully the loan closed but I am 1000% confident it would not have if Chris Didn’t care so much for his client and wasn’t so good at his job.
Veteran's United was, hands down, the best option we could have chosen to assist us in our home buying process. They made everything so easy and understood the VA home loan process better than we ever could have. They helped keep the home buying process exciting and happy rather than stressful and we can't thank them enough.
