Without a doubt, we made the right decision going with Veterans United! They followed through and did exactly what they said they would. Everything went smooth and we are loving our new home. Our Home Loan Specialist, Stefanie Snow, was absolutely AMAZING!!!! She was on top of things, she kept us updated, she was always available to answer our questions and made us feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. Being our first home buying experience, we had a lot of questions and she was very patient and understanding. Can't say enough good things about Stefanie! We are so thankful we choose Veterans United for our first home loan.

My overall experience with veterans united was outstanding, however, the length of time it took to actually close was very frustrating as it took at least 64 days, several closing dates, but, with the help of my loan officer I did finally close. A huge thank you to my loan officer.

I've dealt with Rylan Maddox and his crew twice in the last two years, each time helping me refinance to a lower APR.Both times everything went very smoothly and I appreciate that. I would absolutely recommend Rylan Maddox and VA United Hawaii to any of my fellow veterans who are thinking about buying or refinancing a home.
Nowadays in the business world it seems challenging to find people with the integrity who look out for others' best interests but Rylan and his crew really hit the top of the mark. No ka oi for sure.

Overall my experience was positive because we actually finished the process. I had issues during the lending process where I was forwarded documents to review, and the information in the documents, which were "preliminary" and loaded with estimates of closing costs, were completely inaccurate, and caused me to have some serious concern about what my expected closing costs would be. Upon querying my mortgage agent, I was told that those were estimates and to pay no attention to them, that they would not be accurate until the final closing document was submitted for final loan approval. I understood what I was being told, but I was not comfortable "reviewing" documents that had inaccurate information, and felt they shouldn't have been in the document unless they were accurate, preliminary or not. I haven't purchased a home since 2001, so I wasn't very familiar with the process these days, but I didn't recall having documents that had inaccurate information and being told it was okay, don't worry about it.

Also during the final closing process, there was some disagreement with the Veterans United folks and the escrow agent as far as procedures and protocols that was threatening to cause my closing date to be extended by several days, after already having to extend one week due to backlogged appraisals. I ended up having to provide information to both parties that neither party would provide to the other in order for things to move forward, which I felt was completely unnecessary and truthfully very unprofessional on the part of the parties involved, which shouldn't have included me.

There were other issues, but I was extremely happy when we closed on our home, because it meant that the headaches that went along with the whole lending process were over, as well as finally having our home.
