As a first rime home buyer this process was very detailed from beginning to end.
I had a previous experience with another lender that I pulled my business from and came to Veterans. I asked for better service and I got it. Unfortunately I did not get fast service but, they were thorough, detail oriented and kept me in the loop every step of the way. I had to learn a lot of patience but, if you want your loan done right and correctly; well, I had no problem waiting a few more days for the cash out refinance to close. Matt, Rachel and the team were professionals throughout the process. Explanations are important to consumers where financial transactions change all the time. It started with Kapil, he was very professional and knowledgeable about the process. Nick was the same, very helpful and made me feel really comfortable throughout the entire process. When I had questions his responses were quick and very informative. Kathy did an excellent job of compiling all of the documents and communicating with the underwriter. Our situation was a lil complicated but they did an exceptional job of getting us to close. I really appreciate all of the hard work and will definitely recommend Veterans United to friends who are Realtors and any veteran that is looking for a loan.

If you choose Veterans United, make sure you speak with your loan officer daily or every other day. Our closing day was delayed 2 weeks due to the request of the wrong document. Our six person family was homeless If you're about to PCS with a short time frame to move, you'll probably have more success with a local lender.

Overall positive experience. Made the process of buying a home as a first time buyer simple. The online portal was a great tool to keep track of important to-do's and how the process was moving along.
The Piedmont, SC staff is wonderful. Very helpful, friendly... questions about anything were always promptly answered. Kept in touch during the entire process and let me know exactly what was going on every step of the way. I highly recommend them, especially if you are a first time buyer like myself. They made it painless and pleasurable to do business with them.
