Up to the first scheduled closing date (we had four), I would have rated Veteran's United all 10's across the board. VU made the process of using my VA benefits to buy a home remarkably easy. We were frustrated at the end of the process because the final closing ended up being moved back ten days which created a hardship. The delay would have been understandable if anything major had been missing. That was not the case. Every item that caused three closing dates to be canceled was minor and easily could have been anticipated well before closing. For example, three days after the first scheduled date had slipped (and late in the afternoon before the second scheduled closing) we were told that our verification of employment documents were too old - they couldn't be more than 90 days old. Why, then, weren't they requested again once they "expired"? When I asked Sarah about it, I was told that it was the underwriter's responsibility to identify missing items. Shouldn't it be the loan teams' responsibility to gather all needed documents then the underwriter's job to verify everything is in order for the loan? Prior to the closing timeframe I found VU to be a remarkably efficient and professional company. I was disappointed that the critical endpoint was mishandled.

The Veterans United team did an outstanding job on helping us get our home loan. We never went without an answer being answered. My Veterans United portal made the home loan process very convienent.
The loan process went smoothly and Kelly's team was easy to work with on getting all the information everyone needed.
