I was extremely happy with my experience with VUHL. The only difficulty I encountered was the inability to set a closing date ahead of time. This left me with no opportunity to plan ahead and ensure that I was adequately prepared for my move. I am quite sure that this is also partially due to my builders, but it still would have been nice to have a date set, even if it was set further ahead just in order to allow me to plan. Over all, however, I am so grateful for all the help and for the opportunity to own my own home again.
Provide more information about additional veterans benifits and opertunities for first time home buyers.

Allow for the need to set-up utilities prior to home closing and account for those service providers who perform credit checks and the impact that has (credit alerts) on the loan application process.
The process was very professional and we are completely satisfied with the service we received.The Loan Officer Katie Hayes worked very hard to help us qualify and receive the loan. We can never thank her enough for the time and effort she provided.God Bless America

There was no improvement needed.
When asking for paperwork to be sent, make sure the most updated copy has not already been received. On a couple occasions during closing I was asked to send paperwork that was already sent a day or two prior. Other than that the experience was enjoyable and if we ever buy a house again we will be using Veteran's United.

My only frustration was ,that the process took an extreme amount of time to actually close on the loan. I realize that a lot of people are refinancing, but you have to have the staff available to do the job. That was the reason for the #8 rating. The other thing that was a pain to go through, was the conference calls that was requested. Having dealt with local banks in the past, I was never required to listen to a guy whom I could barely understand, ask my bank how many late payments I have made. The answer was zero! I would have thought that would have been information made available to Fifth Third bank, without me having to be on a conference call. I consider it a total waste of my time! I do realize that Fifth Third bank might have been a cause for some of the delays in the process.
Maybe have a complete list of every possible thing that will be needed. It felt like everyday there was something new i had to produce
