My loan officer and team were always available to answer questions and guide me in the right direction. As a first time buyer I couldn't ask for a better team and lender to work with!
when I was filling out the application was not told of a closing payment cap for the seller and was not supposed to pay anything out of pocket to close on buying the house, other than that was very helpful in keeping paperwork up to date.
We will forever be grateful to Veterans United for helping us buy our dream home!
Everyone at VU were eager to close the loan and always there to answer any and all questions I feel they were there just for me worked hard to the very best anyone could ask for. I highly recommend them for any Veteran looking to buy a home.

Ben, is a professional, in every way. Kept me informed and answered all my concerns in a timely and courteous manner. I would absolutely recommend Ben and his top notch team to any one needing a home loan.
Veterans United is a company that goes above and beyond to help you achieve your dreams. The bond I established with those assisting me can be summed up in one word " family ". That what it felt like. It felt Llje one of my relatives was assisting us.
I only had a couple complaints throughout the entire process. I felt like the VA appraiser should have came after negotiations on the home were completed. Coming before the agreements on repairs to the home were made took away some of my bargaining power.
The second concern, and this could fall back on my lack of knowledge, is that I did not understand interest rate lock-ins and probably should not have given the seller an extra few weeks to close. Locking in beyond 30 days did cost me and I wish I had been aware of the difference prior to extending the closing date.
I bought my house and land in Maine. I lived in Rhode Island. Everything was completed through the internet. Besides the info I initially filled out and mailed and personal info I faxed I bought my property on my phone. Who knew. Ez and simple. Thank you Veterans United and wonderful Shannon.
PS thanx for the really nice dog bone jar. I was going to buy one prior to but it was pricey. 😉
After we bombarded him with questions he never once struggled for an answer. Defiantly the man you want it help you out. Especially a first time buyer
Veterans United worked for us when everyone else just gave us the cold shoulder. Other companies wanted to only deal with quick easy situations, and mine was a little more complicated due to work lapses for both my wife and I. VU stuck around and helped us get through it. VU also made sure we where getting a house that was going to work for us. Ask for Steve Dean nice patient person. Just because you can't see him doesn't mean he isn't fighting for you.
I highly recommend Veterans United Home Loans to all Veterans. Brooks Onishi, my loan officer was professional and knowledgeable in making my process as painless as possible. My overall experience with his team was outstanding and I plan to recommend him to all my colleges.
I would highly recommend working with Veteran's United. They are knowledgable, professional, and work hard to help Veteran's buy homes. Our loan officer helped us every step of the way, and made the home loan process so smooth. I simply cannot say enough good things about Veteran's United!
Would use this company again! Easy to reach and very friendly!
I highly recommend any potential homebuyers to work with Veterans United. Nathan Bernier was beyond helpful throughout the process and was always available to speak with whenever I had any questions or concerns. They did not just meet the estimated date of closing but in fact closed a week prior. I can not thank the team at Veterans United enough.
You have a great team.
It was a very exhausting process! When I speak to other people who have done re-fi's their experiences were very different. I'm glad your company was able to finally pull it together, but I wouldn't do it again nor would I subject anyone else to it.
Dorothy Whiting was a horrible realtor. I hope that she never helps anyone else try to get a house again. I would not recommend her to anyone.
Trish Cole is a great loan specialist and I would highly recommend her to future VA users. I started my home buying process while I was overseas. I initially was leaning towards renting, since I already have an existing mortgage loan under VA in a different state. Trish knowledgeably answered all my questions and assisted me with every little thing from start to finish. Once I arrived in my next duty location, the complicated loan process was already well underway. With Trish’s expertise, all the pieces fell into the right places.
