As a veteran, I chose Veterans United and I had a very pleasant experience with them! As a first time home buyer, I got all the information I needed to sail smoothly. (You can probably guess what branch I was in(; ) I chose the VA Home Loan because you can’t beat it! I also opted to put a down payment to lower my monthly costs. I didn’t realize how easy home buying was and Veterans United helped with that. I was guided every step of the way. They even had a checklist for utility setup that listed local providers that service my home! I would definitely recommend VU to friends, family, and coworkers!

The team that helped me through the home buying process was amazing! I was beginning to think that I was never going to find a home that fit me and that it was not going to become a reality of owning my own home, however, through everything the team that I got connected with was there for me the whole time every single step of the way encouraging me and reassuring me that this was going to happen and it did!! Shawn Stewart and Veterans United was the only positive result of our situation. We had issues throughout the whole process and others dropping the ball is a very important high stress sell/buy agreement but Shawn Stewart never disappointed us. He not only worked his magic with our loan process he also helped us understand and explained the realstate side of things when we lost hope in our realtor and broker. He worked so hard for us and was never anything but amazing. We cannot express enough how grateful we are to have him on our side. He was the best and so was his whole team. The underwriter and appraiser that were assigned to me caused unnecessary delays in my home purchase. There should be a better vetting process for who is able to work for/with Veterans United. The randomly selected appraiser wouldn't speak to anyone except the loan officer and was only reachable by email for most of the time until we got his real phone number from the sales agent. VU should require appraisers to have more communication with the actual Veteran that is trying to buy a home. I should not have to do my own investigative work just to contact the appraiser so that I can ask detailed questions about the repairs that are required to make sure there is only one re-inspection needed because I pay for each re-inspection.
