It's hard for me to not come to tears when writing how I feel about my experience with Veterans United and their partners. About 15 feet away my daughter is sleeping soundly in her new room. The joy on her face since I was handed the keys to our new home has given me a relief I have not had in years. It's been a hard road from when I left the Army with severe PTSD and physical injuries. I never could have imagined this experience turning out as great as it has. Veterans United didn't just help me put a roof over our head. They made me feel proud of my service, empathized with my mistakes and recognized how much hard work I have put in to provide a better life for my daughter. If you have doubts, like I did in the beginning, make a phone call. They will let you know exactly where you stand and exactly what you will have to do to achieve home ownership. They never once made me feel less than because of my mistakes. They only provided solutions on how to resolve them. I will wrap this up in saying, if you choose Veterans United you will not be disappointed. If you want to be treated with the respect you earned serving in the military, you will find it at Veterans United. Highly recommended, especially for those of you like me, who have been working hard to reverse damage from past mistakes.

My loan was small and ultimately throughout the loan process we did not feel that our loan was worth the loan team' time. We (myself and my realtor's team) were constantly having to reach out, often multiple times to obtain updates. The team would provide an estimated close date and that day would come and go without an update.My loan officer in particular was not great regarding follow-up for things that actually impacted payment. My loan was impounded despite the fact that I was asked to put 25% down, instead of 20% When I asked whether we could remove the taxes and insurance from the monthly payment, my loan officer said he could probably have them waived, but there was never follow-up and in the end the loan was impounded. Frustrating experience. I am told that Veterans United is overall very good and that my experience may be limited to my particular team.

I recommend Veterans United to anyone - veteran or non veteran - looking to purchase a new home. Their streamlined process of setting up an online account allows you to see every step without missing out on any process they require you to do. Their staff we felt was very professional and accurate in every process we went through.
No correspondence from my loan whatsoever. I would leave voicemails and no return calls at all. This was my first experience with United Veterans and unsure about the process. Most of the information I had to reach out to my realtor, who by the way, spoke to my loan team more than I did.
