Brent and Julie were great. We had worked with Brent before, so when we made the decision to refinance we called him directly.
The overall process went super smooth: from getting my quote to close there were little to no issues and the team helped me the entire way. Ryan truly helped me the entire way and I couldn’t ask for a better loan officer.
appreciate Taylor and team. i would have continued with Taylor but was contacted by Mark from Veterans United, and thought they were working together. Either way, we are very happy with Veterans United.
Veterans United did an incredible job. They responded to any and all questions in a timely manner and kept me informed every step of the way.

Tim Alvis and Trent Monnig were very responsive and helpful. Underwriting was aggravating due to constantly requesting new or repeat information. The most aggravating part was having to stop an allotment that went to my wife’s checking account to cover monthly expenses like groceries even though I provided bank statements showing the deposit and it showed the debits from the account to grocery stores and gas stations. They called it a liability where we look at it as a good budgeting tool. Other than that the process went pretty smooth.
Veterans United has helped me out so much with the whole home buying process.
I felt like everyone worked together well to make it a smooth process. Ali was fabulous! She was very responsive and answered all of our questions.
My home buying experience was outstanding from start to finish, thanks to an exceptional team that consistently went above and beyond. Every member of the process—from the concierge to the loan team and underwriting—demonstrated a genuine commitment to my best interests. The concierge service made the experience seamless and stress-free, ensuring I always knew what to expect next. The loan team was knowledgeable, responsive, and proactive in guiding me through each step, taking the time to clearly explain options and answer any questions. Underwriting worked efficiently and thoroughly behind the scenes, helping keep everything on track without unnecessary delays. What truly stood out was how well the entire team collaborated to navigate the VA home loan process. Their expertise and dedication ensured that everything moved forward smoothly, and I always felt supported and confident in the decisions being made.I highly recommend this team to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and client-focused home buying experience.

Brock and his staff did a great job getting me through the process of obtaining a home and financing. Thank you all again.
Communication was pretty good in the beginning and then died off a little after a while. Started getting wrong information and not in time to do anything about it. Found out bad info that impacts a lot of things, at closing. Bad info in the beginning cause me to have to pay more out of pocket ultimately increasing over cost, which defeats the purpose of going through VU because I was trying to save money utilizing my veteran status. My loan officer and his colleague were great and tried their best to fix setbacks.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Justin,
Thank you for sharing this feedback. I’m glad to hear things started off strong and that your loan officer and their colleague were supportive in trying to work through challenges along the way. That said, I’m really sorry to hear that communication declined and that you received incorrect or delayed information, especially when it impacted your costs at closing.
I can understand how frustrating it would be to feel like you were making decisions based on information that later changed, particularly when your goal was to save money using your veteran benefits. That kind of experience can feel discouraging, and I’m sorry for the impact it had on your overall process.
You deserve clear, timely, and accurate guidance from start to finish, and I’d really like the opportunity to take a closer look at what happened here, including how information was communicated and where things may have broken down.
If you’re open to it, please reach out to me directly at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. The Client Advocate team is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday, and we’re happy to follow up the next business day if you contact us after hours.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
It's hard for me to not come to tears when writing how I feel about my experience with Veterans United and their partners. About 15 feet away my daughter is sleeping soundly in her new room. The joy on her face since I was handed the keys to our new home has given me a relief I have not had in years. It's been a hard road from when I left the Army with severe PTSD and physical injuries. I never could have imagined this experience turning out as great as it has. Veterans United didn't just help me put a roof over our head. They made me feel proud of my service, empathized with my mistakes and recognized how much hard work I have put in to provide a better life for my daughter. If you have doubts, like I did in the beginning, make a phone call. They will let you know exactly where you stand and exactly what you will have to do to achieve home ownership. They never once made me feel less than because of my mistakes. They only provided solutions on how to resolve them. I will wrap this up in saying, if you choose Veterans United you will not be disappointed. If you want to be treated with the respect you earned serving in the military, you will find it at Veterans United. Highly recommended, especially for those of you like me, who have been working hard to reverse damage from past mistakes.
