
Overall experience was good, and the mortgage team was very helpful and explanatory throughout the home-buying process. However, there were some documents that got missed/didn't get sent over to me in time, and our closing got pushed from a Friday to a Monday due to a 3-day waiting period pertaining to the final appraisal review. Aside from that, I would recommend.

Robert Keeley was also very good. He was very patient with all of the communications and all of the checklist processes. His was diligent in making sure all my information got to the underwriters and helped me understand exactly what they were asking of me. I am thankful for my whole team, to include Laura who stepped in and kept the process moving seamlessly when needed. I never felt like anyone dropped the ball or forgot about me. It truly was a person-centric experience and I look forward with working with the same team when it comes to buying my dream home.

The entire process was rapid, taking about 35 days from the initial offer to closing. It was done entirely online without needing to visit anyone's office. I recommended Veterans United to two of my coworkers, who are relocating back to the United States this summer.

The process was smooth and Brian and his team members were very helpful. This is a very professional, knowledgeable and hardworking team. They were always there for us and very responsive to our needs and concerns. One thing that could improve is the way the repairs (in our case - the septic distribution box repair) requiring permits with escrow holdback is dealt with. I would suggest that the holdback amount should be determined in light of the required repairs indicated on the permit issued by the appropriate authorities. The initials bids submitted by the buyer/seller could be based on what vendors are telling the buyer/seller and not based on what is required by the appropriate authority. Therefore, once the appropriate authority states the requirements in the permit, the buyer/seller should be allowed to withdraw the bids and submit new bids based on the permit. This prevents the buyer/seller from unnecessarily paying more into escrow than is really necessary. Requiring more of an escrow could also prevent the buyer/seller from closing in a timely fashion due to lack of resources that should not be required of the buyer/seller in the first place.
