My team of awesome professionals guided me through this process with patience expertise and understanding. This was my first VA loan and with service like this it I will definitely do it again!
Mike Patzius and Shari Wooldridge were/are the absolute best and consummate professionals. Not only were they great at keeping their commitments to me as their customer, they also work through countless challenges from the Seller who was unsupportive of the VA Loan process. In short, I’d trust Mike and Shari with my life as they worked with me over a year to make my homeownership possible. KUDOS to Mike and Shari!
Buying a home can be overwhelming, but Veterans United made the entire experience feel effortless. From the very beginning, Darren Bodine and his incredible team were there every step of the way, providing guidance, support, and reassurance whenever I needed it. Their communication was outstanding, and no question ever felt too small or insignificant. Whether it was during the day, in the evening, or on the weekend, they were always available and willing to help. What stood out most was how much they genuinely cared. I never felt like just another customer. Darren and his team took the time to make sure I understood every part of the process and consistently went above and beyond to ensure everything stayed on track. Their professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail gave me complete confidence from start to finish. Most importantly, I always felt that they had my best interests at heart. They earned my trust early on and reinforced it throughout the entire home-buying journey. Thanks to Darren and his team, what could have been a stressful process became an exciting and enjoyable one. I am truly grateful for everything they did and would recommend Veterans United without hesitation to anyone looking to purchase a home.
We had the best experience working with the team at VU. Everything from start to finish is always so smooth & easy. Amanda, Dylan and everyone there are always very friendly, informative & thorough where we are never left confused or in the dark. We are thankful for them all!
Made the buying process for a first time buyer much less stressful than I though the process would be. The team kept constant communication and was always there to answer questions I had.
Even though my closing was severely delayed there was no fault lying on VU. My team did everything they could do to get the difficult situation resolved so that we could close. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with VU (x3) and would use them again and recommend the to anyone looking for a VA loan.

Experience first-hand why 370,464 homeowners give us a perfect score!
Everyone I talked to was so polite and informative it made the whole process easy!
I was a very ignorant buyer. My team was very professional and helped me through the process. I was very grateful to have them. Many thanks to Jeremy Arnold, Jen Storm, and Zachary Spaniol for being the best team ever.
The service Veterans United provides makes the home buying process clear and reduces the stresses involved.
The steps that are necessary to accomplish are laid out and clear to the borrower.
Other services are offered, but never pushed. We took advantage of the homeowners insurance that was offered because the product was explained clearly and was actually at a better price than what I received while comparing quotes.
Everyone was professional and a pleasure to work!
Thank you to all that I worked with!
Look at lot of it was good but 2 major thinks r y im giving a bad review. 1st they sat on documents that we submitted for 2 weeks before looking at it then told us the week before closing it was wrong and needed to be redone. It was for well water tests. They did not give clear instructions on how to take the test and thus it delayed closing for 2 weeks costing myself not even being able to be there for closing and my girl having to move in without me. Also there where many times where I was ignored. I would text them on say a Wednesday and not hear back for 2 or 3 days. At 1st they where great but when they messed up they dont wanna answer any questions and couldn't even have stuff properly prepped for when the well water test came in. Now I own a house that I still havent been able to sleep in. Glad I was able to get the house in the end but for all the money I paid them u think I'd get better results faster.
Response from Veterans United
Hey Adam,
I'm glad to hear you were ultimately able to get into your home, but I'm sorry the process leading up to closing was so frustrating. Having a closing delayed after documents had already been submitted, especially when there was confusion around the well water testing requirements, would be incredibly disappointing.
It's also concerning to hear that you felt ignored when trying to get updates and answers. Communication is a huge part of the homebuying experience, and I can understand how upsetting it would be to wait days for a response while trying to keep everything on track.
I'd appreciate the opportunity to learn more about what happened and review the concerns you've shared. If you're willing, please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Amazing experience made every process easy
Shawn was very patient and knowledgeable. He was prompt in his responses and clear on communicating next steps. We appreciate his hard work immensely. Jaclyn was also working hard and on our side throughout this process. She communicated with our builder and also
Followed up with them when we kept getting no respomse
It was a very quick and easy process and I really appreciated how everyone kept me up to date with everything going on.
I had a very hectic time throughout the entire process. From finding the home, not qualifying, then moving mountains to eventually get to the place where I'd qualify to having major issues with repairs not being finished, closing pushed back and a thousand other things. As a first time homeowner and a disabled vet this made the process even more stressful and hard to understand. All that into consideration, I have to say that ALEX and EVAN put a ton of effort and time into making sure I was comfortable, aware of any and every single little fine print detail and prepared for any contingencies.Neither of them wasted any of my time. They didn't lie, helped me to set realistic expectations, and were usually always available. While both of them have spent many hours going over things with me, specifically Alex and I have had several conversations some as long as 2+ hours. He gave great advice and was a huge reason I was able to get into the house. Evan and I have also spent SEVERAL hours working this deal. He went line by line, through every decimal point, sometimes two or three times, just to help me understand and feel more comfortable moving forward. He laid a solid plan of action and made the impossible possible. To the whole team: Evan, Alex, Grace, plus probably 4 others who directly spoke with me and everyone behind the scenes making this run smoothly, THANK YOU!Because of all of you, I now have the chance to get my mom into a safer place where I know her disability won't be taken advantage of. It's a great home, in a great neighborhood and I hope it will be the last home she will ever need... and you all made that dream a reality for the both of us. So, again, I want to say, "Thanks SO Much!"11/10 experience and will for sure bring my business to you all when I'm ready to build my 4-plex in 3-5 years!Sending warm regards and my sincere appreciation,Christian Thomas Diamond
Outstanding experience with the whole process. Joel and his team were amazing to work with, they eased my mind when I had worries, reassured my doubts and were completely open and honest every step of the way. I would highly recommend this team to any of my fellow veterans. Extremely thankful to have worked with Joel, Lindsey and the whole Veterans United group. First we were strangers, but closed as family. Thank you for making a dream come true.
My process started 3 years ago with Steven, my credit consultant. Steven gave me a plan, but at first, there was no way; we would just keep renting. Steven called just to check in with me 4 months after he delivered my credit path to ownership. I did absolutely nothing, feeling like there was no way I could do this. Steven talked to me over the phone for around 30 minutes, explaining the process and what I needed to do. After that conversation and block of instruction, I received a call from Steven at least once a week about every negative creditor needing some kind of resolution until we hit all of the negative credit. He never gave up on his promise to me, explaining what needed to happen in each scenario. I was passed on to Andrew, who responded to my realtor and me on a Sunday (no voicemail or anyone else). The entire process with my team at Veterans United the all said contact me if i need anything or have questions.
