Everything was fine. Fast responses was great. Only hiccup was that I wasn't given a specific timeline for an extra step in the process, so I thought it was a quick step, but it actually delayed closing by a week. Since I wasn't expecting that, it caused a lot of problems for us. Part of the problem was the realtor not communicating info VU gave him. Both parties assumed the other was communicating the info to me. I'd recommend always cc'g the customer.
Had problems with communicating at the end was very frustrating

Had a great team help me through the whole process they took their time and made sure everything was taken care of definitely recommend!
Veterans United provided an outstanding home-buying experience from start to closing. My Loan Officer, Aaron, was a true professional and provided constant service and attention to detail. We worked together as a team to answer all requirements and work with the VA. The online portal feature makes everything painless, and closing was a breeze with the title company. Veterans United literally made my dreams come true! Thanks
First Home!!!!Veterans United made it really simple with their app, instructions, emails, and to do lists. Sounds like alot but they are on top of it and clear all the way to the end.My team of Austin, Lliam, and Daniel were extremely helpful and would recommend them any day of the week.Thank you guys!!

There were some hick-ups along the way that made the experience more stressful than it needed to be, from misquoting rates (then countering with it being a rate for a different lock period), to CD disparities (162% above the LE). There were also some missed calls where the loan officer said he'd call to discuss documents and then never did call. They spelled my name wrong on at least two documents (not sure who in the process, but it's all connected). I would still recommend VU, but would spell out what to look for that I ran into along the way. Rates are some of the best out there.
Response from Veterans United
Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback Terrence. I’m glad there were parts of your experience that earned your recommendation, but I’m sorry the process was more stressful than it needed to be.
Clear communication and accurate information matter throughout the homebuying process, so I understand why the concerns you described with rate information, disclosures, documents, and missed follow-up would be frustrating. I’d appreciate the opportunity to take a closer look at your experience and any concerns that may still be outstanding.

Derek k , Anna J & Amy (my concierge) were WE’RE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AND PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNICATE THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE ENTIRE PROCESS !! Of ME AND MY WIFE’S DREAM Home. I would highly recommend any Veteran of the Armed Forces to do business with Veterans United. Thank you to all the Team & and representatives of veterans United. God is extremely good and grateful.!
My experience with Veterans United was outstanding from start to finish. The entire home buying process was explained clearly, and the team kept me informed throughout each step. Whenever I had questions, they were responsive and helped me understand what was needed to keep everything moving toward closing. As a Veteran, I appreciated having a team that understood the VA loan process and made purchasing my home much easier. I would definitely recommend Veterans United to other Veterans and military families.
We’ve purchased four homes using VU, and Nathan Bitner has helped us with our last three. The experience has been phenomenal every time, and it’s why we keep coming back!!

Purchasing my home with Veterans United was a huge milestone for me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the team that helped guide me through the process. Buying a home can be stressful at times, but my team consistently worked hard to keep everything moving and to make sure I understood each step along the way.I especially want to recognize Andy Harris, Shawna, Hannah, and Christie for their dedication and professionalism. Andy was always responsive and supportive, making sure my questions were answered day or night and helping me stay on track throughout the loan process. Shawna and Hannah were extremely helpful and organized, making the document process smooth and keeping me informed of what was needed. Christie worked diligently behind the scenes to ensure everything met underwriting requirements. Andy made sure that we reached the finish line. What meant the most to me was knowing I had a team advocating for me and working hard to make my homeownership goal a reality. I was not just a number. As a veteran, it’s reassuring to work with people who understand the VA loan process and truly care about helping veterans succeed.I’m proud to say I’m now a homeowner, and I appreciate the effort and commitment my Veterans United team put into making that happen. I would absolutely recommend Veterans United to other veterans looking to buy a home.
This was our third home purchase, but first with VU. At first, before we committed to VU, they seemed responsive and helpful. However, this changed once we decided to proceed with VU. Responses became slow, our loan coordinator was short and borderline rude for answering basic questions. They also sent us the wrong home appraisal, which coincidently our closing was delayed due to our home’s appraisal being late. While this may not have been VU’s fault, the lack of communication was the most concerning.Furthermore, due to our closing being delayed because of the appraisal, I requested all correspondence between VU and the appraiser, since our team said it was their fault. After receiving written confirmation that VU would provide said correspondence, I have received nothing. While I could continue with specific examples, I would summarize with I absolutely would not recommend VU to anyone, nor do we plan to utilize them in any future home purchase. A lawsuit against this organization for misleading advertising and other alleged misconduct should have been a red flag enough but I unfortunately ignored it. Please don’t repeat my mistake.
Response from Veterans United
I’m sorry your experience with us changed so significantly after choosing Veterans United for your home purchase Tony. You should be able to ask questions throughout the process and feel heard, supported, and kept informed. I understand why the communication you described, particularly surrounding the appraisal and closing timeline, left you frustrated.
I’m glad our team was ultimately able to connect with you, provide some clarity around the closing delay, and move things forward. I’m also concerned to hear that you were expecting additional correspondence and feel that follow-through was lacking. I’d appreciate the opportunity to review that concern and your overall experience more closely.
