Not only did Loan Specialist Matt Lucas and Transaction Coordinator Jessica Jamison do a phenomenal job guiding me through the process as a first-time home buyer, everything was nailed down so tight I was able to close 3 days after arrival. I was literally signing paperwork--on my phone--as we taxied to the terminal after landing in Seattle. Closing was effortless. Veterans United has my highest recommendation.

Veteran’s United does everything for you! They made the process of buying a house a breeze for us. We couldn’t believe how easy and quick it was. We were first time home buyers, knew nothing about the process or where to start. We got in contact with Veteran’s United, Kyle Bakker was our loan officer and he told us what to expect, referred us to a local real estate agent, had a homeowner’s insurance company contact us, and he told us what documents needed to be submitted. It was easy to get in contact with everyone we were working with and get questions answered. We started the home buying process in October 2018 and just closed on our house December 7, 2018. Our experience was amazing, we highly recommend them to anyone wanting to use a VA loan, and we’ll be using them again in the future.
Every single part of working with Veterans United, right down to the realtor that they suggested, was absolutely perfect. At no point during the loan process did we feel as though we were in the dark or unable to handle the stress. I have never had such a wonderful experience handling something that has the potential to be so stressful. Most of the experience was great. Expect the week of closing, they needed us to submit and resubmit and resubmit again, paperwork we already provided a month prior. They found issues with our appraisal the week of closing yet they had already had the appraisal for 3 weeks. It seemed like they were scrambling at the very end on stuff that should have been completed prior to the week of the anticipated closing date. They added so much stress to an already stressful situation. I didn’t feel like our loan officer or the underwriting team were on top of the game like they were for our first home buying experience with VU. For these reasons alone, I would not recommend Veteran’s United to friends and family and, if we ever move again, I will be going elsewhere for a VA loan.
