Active duty members that are about to retire, be aware, they will ask for income documents (retirement pay) and VA documents you will not have. They ask for other documents over and over and even the day before closing. The underwriters are horrible!!
Response from Veterans United
Melissa, we appreciate your honest feedback and we understand that the underwriting process did not meet your expectations. Licensed Underwriters comply with regulations to ensure loans are properly documented, and we work to make that process as easy as possible. The mortgage process can certainly feel intrusive, but we want to reassure you that this in-depth analysis is a worthwhile step. The underwriting process serves to protect the integrity of our industry and families who might otherwise fall into a financial hardship. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you, and we hope you enjoy your new home! If there were any aspects that you felt we could have handled better, then contact our Client Advocate team to discuss.
The easiest and beat company to use to buy a home. The website walks you through the application process and then notifies you when you have a task required of you (such as upload a copy of your paystub or schedule an inspection). All of my documents are in one place. Even my last application process is there for me to see. It’s awesome!
Everything went great and smooth. I had a very positive experience with veterans united. Thank you
Veterans United has a great team working to accomplish the goal. They were very courteous and quickly returned phone calls and emails when I had questions. I wasn't even closed a month for my refinance and I had already recommended them to others. Veterans United is very knowledgeable when it comes down to it. They will be my first choice whenever I get asked who to go to.
What a disservice to veterans! No veteran, particularly a disabled one, should have to endure this process. This is an expensive loan and the process was a very frustrating experience. The closing was extremely stressful, with mistakes in line numbers and last-minute changes in the numbers that increased the closing costs by $5,000! The interest rate swung up and down as well. Communication with loan processors was difficult. The closing was scheduled a few times and postponed the day before. Had we not asked, we would have not known. Of course, the company's agent refused to be held accountable for any of the mishaps, although we just wanted to rectify the issues and get the loan closed. Six months in, we finally closed, but it was an uphill battle. The good news is the home was finally purchased and the veteran will not have to live in a nursing home.

Joe and his team's concerted effort made my home buying possible while living in Korea . Every step of the way went flawlessly exceeding my expectations. I had a great experience of working with Lacey, Joe and Davon. I strongly recommend Veterans United Home Loans to any veteran homebuyers. Job Well Done !!
Veterans United kept us informed throughout the process, although I would have liked it to have moved faster.
We would highly recommend Veterans United Home Loans! They made our dream a reality as first-time homebuyers and exceeded our expectations. Adam and Amanda made our home-buying experience smooth and easy to understand. As much as we heard about how stressful the experience could be, they took it all away by answering questions, outlining the process, and guiding us every step of the way!

I haven't purchased a home in over 22 years. I was nervous about the overwhelming process, VU makes it step by step and the portal with the ToDo list is easy to understand and complete.
I would Highly recommend Veterans United Loan. If you
The whole process was simple and easy, check boxes for each individual task and helpful links on the side of the screen as little reminders for things to set up not directly related to the loan itself. Helpful and friendly staff made the process easy and fun, which sounds crazy I know but I really enjoyed talking with them.
