Professional, caring, great charisma and going above and beyond of doing everything right from the beginning till the end. Let's be honest, in this day and age, you hardly see this type of work ethic in the lending business, where they're all about the money and forget about those important intangibles, which in my book, makes Veterans United one of a kind. Loan Officer was difficult to reach several times. Sent me loan estimate before closing without explanation of cash needed to close. Had to call several times to get a clear explanation. Later on my to do list were instructions to liquidate my retirement savings, which is something I had never discussed with anyone at Veterans United, was entirely unnecessary, and I had to ask it to be removed from my to do list. In the two weeks leading up to closing date, I emailed my loan officer twice to make sure closing was ready to go, cash to close was clear. On the day of closing, and on my way to the title company, loan officer called me and said he had not updated my paperwork, and that I would not be able to close that day, and instead would need over $35k in cash to close! Or wait 72 hours and then close! I had emailed twice on the past two weeks and he had acknowledged our plan and that cash would not be needed to close! In the end, he somehow managed to correct the paperwork the same day and we closed same day. But what a terrible experience all the way through.
Overall the team did pretty good and got my wife and I into our new home which is all we can ask for. However, sometimes the process felt unorganized with the amount of different people we had to talk to and seemingly lack of communication between them. I understand that each member is working numerous cases and it can get jumbled up but it’s frustrating when something is said that has already been covered or isn’t relevant to our case.
Steve Brockman and his entire chain was very thoughtful and professional and helped me and my wife immensely. I would highly recommend him any day of the week. It was a true blessing to work with him and he taught me a lot and guided and directed our home purchase

My team at Veterans United "held my hand" through the intire process. I knew very little about this whole process being a first time hime owner. At times, i needed to take things slow and go over some steps at a slow pace so I didnt miss anything. Being a vet with ptsd, this began to get overwhelming, but my team took extra time, talked slowly and clearly to ensure I was fully aware of every detail. I strongly believe, if i had gone with another mortgage company, i would have backed away from this whole process Rob was morenthan understanding and did all he could to insure I didnt let myself down by backing out. Possibly open communication among peers. A few times I would hear something from someone and then another thing from someone else or being reach out about the same thing from different people. I believe open communication among peers upon reaching out to the client would eliminate this. But I really did enjoy my overall experience.
