We did not receive the closing papers until the day of closing. A three day window is required, l believe. To get the final paperwork the very day we were to close was very frustrating to say the least. Also the initial closing doc that we saw had us paying approximately $2500 cash at closing. Realizing it was only an estimate at that time. When the final numbers came in, the cash at closing jumped to over $10,000, and that was the day of closing.
Either I miss understood what the HUD statement figures was telling me, or the initial estimate of funds required to close was grossly under estimated, the matter was, in my opinion, miss represented.
To be positive, your team of professionals were extremely helpful, and contributed to a successful outcome.

The amount of paperwork verification for the underwriter was a bit much. I have the $ in my accounts, but they wanted to see it in a certain way which was a pain to deal with!! I understand they are covering their interest on this, but was a seemingly constant bother!

The people are charming, honest, and easy to work with, but they did not complete our loan application on time, they could not answer some basic fee expenses questions, and they mixed up some of our basic financial facts. Basically, they were adequate but not above average.
If you are a veteran and considering whether or not to buy a home now, it is the time and Veterans United is the source. They provided all the help this old soldier needed when starting the lending process, then was able to connect me to an outstanding real estate agent. The home I picked is lovely and closing was a breeze. Anyone else who goes through the process and stays within the guidelines will get lots of help. I particularly enjoyed some of the videos on the website which helped during the various stages of the process, especially when it came to closing. These people will work with you and make it work for you.
